About Talvi Violin Studio

The Talvi Studio offers first rate violin and viola instruction to gifted artists of all ages in a warm, nurturing environment. Ilkka Talvi and Marjorie Kransberg-Talvi are internationally recognized and acclaimed for their contributions as soloists, concertmasters, chamber musicians, and pedagogues. Mr. Talvi is presently on the faculty of Seattle Pacific University, and serves as concertmaster for Rainier Symphony. Former posts include concertmaster of Mostly Mozart Festival of Lincoln Center, Malmo Symphony, Professor of Violin at Sibelius Academy in Finland, Principal of Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and Oregon Bach Festival. He is also Concertmaster Emeritus of Seattle Symphony.


Marjorie Kransberg-Talvi is formerly concertmaster of Pacific Northwest Ballet, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Peter Britt Festival, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute. Marjorie and Ilkka are committed to sharing the finest traditions of string playing, and helping to guide enthusiastic students towards a life enriched by musical knowledge, through a unique and personalized approach. The Talvi Studio offers regular performance opportunities in various locations.
