Description:

When the 522-foot L.C. Smith Tower was originally built in 1914, the tower was considered to be one of the tallest structures in the world, gracing Sunday newspaper sections next to such classic buildings as St. Peter's Cathedral and the Pyramids of Giza. The tower is located in the heart of downtown, in the Pioneer Square area. The highlight of any visit to the tower is the 35th floor Chinese Room, an eloquently designed and decorated room that features furniture donated by the then Empress of China, including the famed Wishing Chair.
